  Really liked Dr. Gordon and his nurse. He's excellent. Wait was fine--probably average for most doctor offices.

  Scheduling, communication and office support have made it an ordeal to work with the Hunt Club Clinic. Over an hour wait each time I had an appointment. One time I called on a Thursday late afternoon and was told they had an opening the next day at 1 PM (due to a cancellation). When I got there Friday at 1 PM, I was told that my appointment was yesterday, 1 PM on Thursday. I said that I didn't call for the appointment until a couple of hours after that. So after realizing their mistake, they would "fit me in." An hour and 45 minutes later they called my name to weigh me and take my blood pressure.
  Then there is communication. I called my pharmacy for a prescription refill on a Monday. They said they would fax the doctor a refill request for me and they would let me know when it was ready. I called back Tuesday and they said they hadn't heard back from the Doctor. I was running out by Friday and remembered that I hadn't got a call back. The Pharmacy said they still had not heard back from repeated faxes. So I called the Dr's. office. They told me that only patients calling can get refills and that when they get faxes from pharmacies they just delete them without responding. I asked, "how was I supposed to know that, and why didn't you let the pharmacy know of your policy?" No answer, just "which prescription do you need filled?" I called the pharmacy back to let them know what I'd found and they said they had never heard of such a thing or policy.
  Then the office support. I had stomach upset so the doctor wanted tests run...blood, urine and stool samples. I took the vials home for the stool sample and returned them the next day (have you ever done a stool sample? I'd rather fill another dozen vials with blood). Well, when I came for my next appointment on a Friday the doctor told me that they had lost one of the four stool sample vials and I would need to do it again. I took it home and brought it back during their office hours on Saturday only to be told "oh, we don't accept any lab samples on the weekend." I asked how I was supposed to know that. I was given another vial to take home and I endured the process a third time and made a third trip across town to deliver it to them (gas prices made that last vial a little more expensive). When I showed up on Monday they pointed me down the hall to the lab. The lady there seemed to be trying to do several things at once. She did a quick glance at a log and said, "just set it down over there." Next to two piles of paper was a small space on the counter where she was pointing. Needless to say I wondered if this one would be lost too.
  The Dr.I saw is great, but they are far too busy to give good service. I suspect the "walk-ins welcome" is part of the mix.
  My tests all came back negative and I'm felling better. My job is taking me out-of-state so I won't have to deal with the clinic again.
